Dark Matter Hot Sauce Teams Up With Josh and Benny Safdie
It all started with a tweet...
Seriously, that's how the Peach Habanero Safide Brothers Final Draft Limited Edition Dark Matter Hot Sauce started.I had been hearing about the Safdie Brothers since they released Heaven Knows What, but with all the hype around their 2017 crime thriller Good Time starring Robert Pattinson I never thought I'd actually catch their eye with our hot sauce.
Dark Matter Hot Sauce had only featured pop-punk bands before Josh & Benny, but as soon as they heard more information about our hot sauce & how we donate 30% of all sales (sales, not profits so we are able to make a bigger impact) to The Dear Jack Foundation they were game!
After much consideration, Benny made the final decision on our peach habanero hot sauce flavor- subtle sweet flavor packed with a ton of heat! It has a heat level of about 8/8.5 out of 10. Both Josh & Benny were incredibly involved in the process. In fact, that handwriting you see featured on the face of the label is actually from Josh Safdie himself!
Limited to just 1,111 bottles in total, the Final Draft hot sauce can only be owned by ordering it on our website at darkmatterhotsauce.com
Josh & Benny have even signed pictures & certificates for some lucky bottle owners! You'll know you've received something autographed when your order arrives.
What are you waiting for? Head over to Dark Matter Hot Sauce & grab your bottle of our limited edition Safdie Brother hot sauce while ya can!
Bonus Fact:
The main character played by Rob Pattinson in Good Time is named Constantine Nikas. Konstantine is also the title of Something Corporate's iconic 'scene' song which is now only played live in concert once a year on 11/11 at the Dear Jack Benefit Show

Six shots and I'm faded...you've got a new tattoo. Fallin' back in old habits cause that's what we do...Dark Matter Hot Sauce has been lucky enough to collaborate with the one and only Jake Miller.
Jake was cool enough to take some time during his 2017 Back to the Start Tour to answer a few questions for us!
Our limited edition Can't Help My Sauce Jake Miller hot sauce only has 1,111 total bottles for sale. Once they sell out the design will get retired & never be sold again. Head over to Dark Matter Hot Sauce now to grab your bottle while you can. *30% of all sales are donated directly to The Dear Jack Foundation.
**Jake Miller also signed a bunch of labels and certificates for some lucky winners! All bottles are eligible to win a signed bottle. You'll know you've won when your order arrives.
| Jake Miller with Josh aka Chicago Johnny's |
Thank you to Jake for being involved in this project!
What made you want to get involved with Dark Matter Hot Sauce?
I've always wanted to branch out and do some kind of food product. Hot sauce is something Ive always loved and its for an amazing cause.
How’d you come up with the name [Can’t Help My Sauce] for your hot sauce?
My new single is called Cant Help Myself, and I can't help myself but to keep eating hot sauce.
You were extremely involved in the entire behind the scenes process of bringing your limited edition hot sauce bottle to life. You were also the first artist to request including a thank you note to your fans directly on the bottle. Why was it so important for you to have that added connection to your fans?

| Each limited edition hot sauce is numbered and comes with a certificate of authentication |
My fans are my everything. Anything I do, its for them. I always love showing my appreciation, since I wouldn't be here in the first place if it weren't for them.
What is your favorite food to use hot sauce on?
Tacos
Everyone knows how difficult it is to eat food that isn’t just drive-thru food when you’re on the road. What meal do you cook when you’re finally back in your home kitchen?
I love cooking a nice chicken, rice, and pasta dish.
30% of sales from the hot sauce go directly to The Dear Jack Foundation, which was founded by Andrew McMahon of Something Corporate/Jack’s Mannequin. We know you’re an Andrew fan and we’ve seen you’ve hosted Emo Nite. How has the emo/pop punk genre had an influence on your music career?
I grew up listening to Jacks Mannequin and a bunch of other pop punk bands. It heavily influenced my ear for music and playing instruments. That kind of music brings back the best memories.
You’re currently an independent artist. What has been the biggest challenge going from a label to being independent? Or do you find that the freedom of being an independent artist outweighs the challenges that you’re facing?
The freedom of being off a record label for the first time is so refreshing. I have no limitations for the first time ever. Of course there are some challenges and obstacles to jump over, but that makes it more fun and rewarding when I win.
You sing a lot about where you’re from in Florida. If you didn’t have to be based out in LA for music would you still be based back home?
I don't have to be based in LA. I love LA. Florida will always be there when I miss my friends and family, but I want to be in LA for now because its such a great place to be creative.
What can we expect next after you wrap up the Back 2 the Start tour?
After tour, I will make more music and tour more. Over and over again. I just want to keep doing what I'm doing, on a bigger and bigger scale.
If you were running Dark Matter Hot Sauce who would you like to see on a limited edition bottle?
I would like to see my dad on the next bottle ;)

An Interview with Jeremy Lenzo of Mayday Parade

The second artist Dark Matter Hot Sauce was fortunate enough to collaborate with was Mayday Parade. The fellas were rad enough to lend us their images for a limited edition hot sauce bottle! (Shout out to Josh Terry at Workshop Management & everyone else involved in helping make the hot sauce a reality)
Jeremy Lenzo, bassist in Mayday Parade, took some time out of his busy schedule while touring in Europe to answer a few questions for us!
What is your favorite food to use hot sauce on?
Probably Mexican, but I generally put hot sauce on just about everything.
What is your favorite recipe to cook when you’re home?
I don't know. It depends on what I'm in the mood for but salmon, green beans with a side salad is usually a weekly thing.
Do you guys cook on the tour bus or eat out more often? If you’re cooking on the bus while traveling, who is the best cook in the band?
We usually eat out more on tour. On the bus all you really have is a microwave and maybe a George Forman grill. You can do quite a lot with that, but in a bus the smell, smoke and clean up are a big problem. As far as the best cook, I don't know. I think each one of us has our special dish that we cook really well.
Who decided which lyric would be used on your limited edition hot sauce bottle?/How did you decide which lyric to feature on the bottle?
What made you want to collaborate with Dark Matter Hot Sauce?
We all love hot sauce, and the proceeds we're going to a good cause.
Is hot sauce an essential for anyone in the band?
I think me (Jeremy) and Brooks love our hot sauces. We need to at least have a few different bottles in the fridge on tour.
When it comes to hot sauce is the heat level more important to a dish or intense flavor more important?
I think flavor is always the most important thing with hot sauce. If you can't taste your food anymore you're doing it wrong. Although, I say that but I tend to push the thresh hold on heat a good bit.
Currently in Europe so I can't sample it to remember, but if I can recall It's a vinegar based hot sauce with a smoky taste and a mild heat. Good for chicken and fish.
We know you’re headed to the UK for the last leg of the ALIR 10th Anniversary tour. What’s up next for Mayday Parade? Can we expect news on the new album in the near future?
When we get back from tour we're going to jump in the studio sometime in December to record some new material and hopefully try and get an album done by early next year. Hopefully after marketing and what not we can release sometime early summer.
You can still order your Mayday Parade limited hot sauce! Available only at DarkMatterHotSauce.com
Only 1,111 bottles will be sold & once they sell out the design will get retired & never sold again. As always, 30% of each sale gets donated directly to the Dear Jack Foundation. If you decide not to order, please consider making a donation to the organization. *We donate 30% of total sales, not profits, to the Dear Jack Foundation, allowing us to make a bigger donation with your support.Monday, September 25, 2017
An Interview With Tyler from State Champs
Slow Burn—over 500,00 YouTube views, over 2 MILLION streams on Spotify, and now the energetic pop punk song from State Champs is featured on its very own mango habanero hot sauce bottle!
Dark Matter Hot Sauce had a chance to catch up with Tyler from State Champs!
DMHS: What made you want to get involved with Dark Matter Hot Sauce?
Tyler: It's really cool for us to make little oddball "merch" items. We've made a bunch of wacky shit like leggings, woven blankets, bags of coffee, fidget spinners, selfie sticks, etc. So to approach us with the idea of a hot sauce that we get to design ourselves AND helps out an important charity? You had us all jazzed up.
DMHS: The mango habanero flavored hot sauce is accurately described as a slow burn. When you chose that flavor were you aware that the song choice of Slow Burn was going to perfectly describe the taste?
Tyler: Absolutely not! I wish I had planned it like that. Either way, it worked out well. I just love how the heat from the habanero sauce sneaks up on you. Maybe it was a subconscious thing who knows!
DMHS: What is your favorite food to eat hot sauce on?
Tyler: Whether it's wings or breasts, definitely chicken. A close second is on my eggs in the morning. However, my roommate recently introduced me to tossing a little on your microwave popcorn. A true game changer.
DMHS: One of Dark Matter Hot Sauce’s key components is that 30% of sales are donated to the Dear Jack Foundation, which was founded by Andrew McMahon. If you could each only choose one song to pick as a favorite by either Something Corporate, Jack’s Mannequin, or Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness which song would it be?
Tyler: I won't lie, I absolutely love Andrew McMahon's songs so I'm going to give you my favorite from each of those projects listed above.
Jack's Mannequin - I'm Ready
Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness - Birthday Song
DMHS: I was fortunate enough to see you at the 4 Chord Music Festival in Pittsburgh where you played just before The Startling Line, which I have to assume was a major highlight of your career. Would you say that was the most surreal since being in State Champs? If not, what would you say was your favorite experience to date with the band?
Tyler: The Starting Line are a very important band to us. To be able to play with them was awesome but we were a little nervous! We were all getting ready to play backstage hoping they don't watch us in case we mess up or whatever haha. One of the most surreal moments for me in our career so far was opening the main stage at Reading and Leeds. I mean come on, LEGENDS have played that stage. It felt crazy to be able to stand where they stood.
DMHS: You’re currently on your ‘Road to Riot Fest’ tour and I know you’ll be headed into the studio again soon to record your new album. Any idea on when we can expect some new music to be released?
Tyler: Like many of my best and most awesome secrets, I'll never tell!!!
Tyler: Like many of my best and most awesome secrets, I'll never tell!!!
DMHS: In the song Slow Burn you mention Chicago. Is there a food or restaurant you absolutely must get while you’re in the Windy City?
Tyler: You bet! We're wildly passionate about food. The non vegetarians/vegans always have to get Lou Malnati's pepperoni sausage deep dish with the buttercrust.
The vegetarian/vegans always go to The Chicago Diner. Although I eat meat, I do enjoy vegan restaurants with my guys and The Chicago Diner is unbelievable. You wouldn't even know the difference!
Dark Matter Hot Sauce donates 30% of each sale to The Dear Jack Foundation.
Head over to www.darkmatterhotsauce.com to grab yourself a limited edition State Champs Slow Burn hot sauce bottle. You might even be one of the lucky owners who get an autographed bottle shipped to them!
Grab yourself a bottle or two, support a great cause, and be sure to give every member of State Champs (and their mangers/team) high fives for being a part of this project with us.
A very special thank you to Tyler for taking time to answer a few questions for us! Speaking from experience, State Champs is incredible live so go out & support them when they come to your town…whenever that may be since Tyler wouldn’t divulge his SECRETS with me 😉
